When it comes to Caribbean superyacht hot spots, it’s pretty hard to compete with the understated allure and stunning natural beauty of the diminutive island of St Barths. In fact, the small French-Caribbean-village-charm of Gustavia, the island’s main harbor, is one of the many reasons the superyacht set flock there every winter. Especially during the Christmas and New Years holidays.
But the small harbor also has some size restrictions that force many yachts to anchor out away from the action in town. And that means that even the most wealthy yacht owners and guests need a boat ride in to town from their yacht. Needless to say, it’s much easier to step on land from a yacht tied up in the harbor than it is to motor in through the wind and waves on a motor launch.
As I saw for myself recently during the Miami Yacht Show, the Reymond Langton Design team provided Excellence V with three fully stocked bars and seven lounges in addition to well-designed spaces to work out or just chill out. The main deck features a comfortable saloon and formal dining room along with a spacious upper deck lounge. The yacht is also equipped with a private cinema and well-designed amidships beach club.
The owner’s deck is a private yet informal living space that can be accessed via elevator from the beach club. The bed in the owners cabin situated underneath an expansive sunlight which can be blacked out. And it also has a private office and an additional double cabin that has been designed to accommodate either a nanny or staff.
Meanwhile, Excellence V is currently available for charter in the Bahamas and Caribbean (approx. $750,000 per week). So, you can host 14 of your closest friends what true superyacht luxury is really like. Or if a week just isn’t long enough, you can buy it for just under $80 million because that certain American businessman is getting ready to launch his newest and largest yacht yet. And the rumor is…it’s way too big to fit inside Gustavia Harbor.
Stay tuned.
