Trey Songz (Tremaine Aldon Neverson) is a Virginia-born singer-songwriter, rapper, producer, and actor. To date, Trey Songz has released six studio albums. He first appeared on the music scene in 2004 with his debut album, “I Gotta Make It”. He won a Grammy Award in 2009 for the song, “Ready”.
In April 2012, Trey was involved in a lawsuit against Storage Wars star Dave Hester over the catch phrase “Yuuup.” Hester uses the phrase frequently on Storage Wars and has been selling merchandise that features “Yuuup.” Dave Hester was granted a trademark for the phrase which would give him the exclusive rights to profit off its use in merchandise and licensing. Songz disagrees with this trademark grant because he claims to have been using the phrase since 2009, several years before Storage Wars first aired. A Manhattan judge eventually sided with Hester.
